John Robinson circus
Ther is a book "Give 'Em a John Robinson written & published by Richard E. Conover that covers the entire history of the show. It includes many pictures around the period you are looking for. If you can get the book you might be able to identify your people.

Do you have any other pictures? My great grandparents, Calvin and Alice Hull were with the show in the early 1890's. He played cornet in the band and she rode elephants. We have no pictures from the time they were there.
Robinson Circus
My grandfather, William Williams Hersh was a clown in Robinson circus in the 1880's and 1890's. He did an acrobatic clown act with his partner Walter Alston. They billed themselves as mirror twins. He was married (before he met my grandmother) to a woman named Anna who had a dog act in the circus. He quit in 1893 when he married my grandmother because her family did not think it a respectable profession.
I have photos of him, but none of the circus. There is a book about the early days of that circus called
Old Wagon Show Days. I believe that Robinson's was the first circus to travel by train instead of wagons.
