My father is John Holden Dakins and my mother, oddly enough, is Sandra Conroy. The faces look familiar in your photos, but I cannot complete the line. My Dakins side comes from Iowa, but I need some help connecting the dots.
Can you send me an email privately and I will share the information I have on the Dakins and Conroy lines?

Conroy and Dakins

Hi Kym,

Sorry I haven't looked at this site for a while, I thought I would be notified if someone posted a comment.

John Dakins Sr. b. 1840, came to Racine WI area from Rodenshire Wales. In 1884 or 85 he married Fannie Lewis, b. 1860 in Shropshire, England. Her father, Jerimiah, had also emigrated to the Rachine WI area. John and Fannie were married in Woolstock Iowa.

Their children were Mary Elizabeth, John Francis, Edmond Dewey, Birdie, Edith, Anna, and Fern. Neither John or Edmond married. Anna married Earl Knipp. Birdie married Ed Frye. Mary married Raymond King. Edith married John Mathews.

Fern married John(Jack) Conroy. They had a daughter named Velva Mae.
Velva married Elvyn Claude, they had two sons named Walter and Elvyn jr.
I don't know anything about either son other than names.

These families lived around the Woolstock, Eagle Grove areas in Wright County Iowa. If they are the correct lineage, I can send you more information. I also have more photos.
