Eastern H. S. Band Photo
I am in this photo; second row, nearly dead center. Dennis Hooper and I are the two french horn players. The two bassoonists in the front row and slightly to my right are Patty Terrel (sp.?) and Betsy Carter.
Eastern Band picture
Hi Merle, I was surprised to see this pop up in my mail. I have the photos from the other years and orchestra's also. Tom Helderman and Terry Hinman are also on facebook and others are in Classmates. I am in contact with Sharon Hugger, Jim Kot and others and we are trying to work up a 50th reunion for next year. I have seen Dennis Hooper off and on over the years, both when we played in the VFW Band and lately for some MSU functions.
50th Reunion
Hi Dave:
I would be interested in updates on a possible 50th reunion in 2010. After stints overseas with the Peace Corps (Thailand)in 65-67, then the US Agency For International Development in Vietnam, 68-70, I worked in Ohio (Holden Arboretum), Michigan (U. of M. Matthaei Botanical Gardens)and then moved to Colorado in 1978 working first for the Denver Botanic Gardens and later the Denver Zoo, until retiring to Estes Park, CO in 2005. How do I get on a mailing list to keep informed as plans for a reunion come together? Am thinking about traveling to Michigan next Aug. for a family reunion so it might work out to also attend a reunion if the timing was right. Let me know.

LEHS reunion
Hi Merle, nice to hear from you. Are you on Facebook, or willing to join? A number of us are and communicate often in that manner or regular email. The committee just had a meeting yesterday in Lansing. I could fax a committee roster to you, but some new ones have joined. Here are the people on Facebook: Myself, Jan Hoffmeyer (Moore), Sharon Hugger (Cook), Joyce Baker (Nye), Bobi Cranmer (McConnell), Tom Helderman.
You could write Terry Post, [email protected] as he composes and sends out updates. Tentative plans were to have the reunion the weekend of 9-11-10 at the MSU University Club. Tom Jamieson is involved in a lot of these activities.
You sure have had an interesting life the past 50 yrs. I have a cousin out in Denver. On a sad note, Terry Hinman was in a bad car accident the other day and passed away. He was very interested in the upcoming doings. Funeral tomorrow in Lansing. Send me an email and I can fwd the details of the accident , obit and stuff.
Band Photo
Wouldn't you know.. your photo cuts a drummer off the left edge, and it's me.
I'm in the same row as you somewhere
Wish I could blow this picture up to see all the stellar coronet/trumpet players under the eye of Mr. Picard!
