Soldier Hunter

This is probably James Hunter of Company H. Enlisted on 8/14/1862 as a Private. 24 years old. On 12/12/1862 he mustered into "H" Co. On 2/18/1864 he transferred into Veteran Reserve Corps. (possibly disabled). The William Hunter of Company I was listed being 44 years old. (possibly James' father) ? This man doesn't look that old to me. William had a leg amputated in 1864. The William H. Hunter listed was actually William H. Hunt, who died at Andersonville.

SOURCE : Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio.

Possibly one of the following:
Pvt James Hunter Co H 113th OVI
Pvt William Hunter Co C 113th OVI

Hunter Civil War Soldier

Upon checking the Civil War Soldiers and Sailor System from the National Park Service, the 113th Ohio Infantry had three soldiers named Hunter. They are listed as follows:

James Hunter, Company H, Pvt.
William Hunter, Company C, Pvt.
William H. Hunter, Company G, Pvt.

The above information may help you narrow your search down for the soldier's identity.
