Harry L. Kitch

2nd Lt. Harry L. Kitch of Greenville, Mercer County, Pa.
Harry L. Kitch was born 13 Sept 1915 to Irvin Joshua Kitch and Blanche Summers Kitch. he was employed by Westinghouse in Sharon, Pa, then drafted into the Army in early 1941.
He became a 2nd Lieutenant and was assigned to the 853 Engineer Battalion, Aviation. They built airfields in North Africa during World War II then were assigned to a destination in India and was killed on 27 Nov 1943 on the HMT Rohna in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Algeria. Action due to bombing by German aircraft. He received the Bronze Star for action during the sinking.
