Roasting a Steer Waterloo, Wisconsin 1907
The picture was taken at the Labor Day Ox Roast at the dedication of the newly built Fireman's Park at Waterloo, Wisconsin. The Ox Roast became an annual event at the Park on both the July 4th and Labor Day picnics. The man at the left with his hands on his hips is my Grandpa Emil Meitner. He joined the Waterloo Fire Department in 1906 and did most of the concrete work while the park was being constructed.
